Group Support
We have been awarded a grant to run some group support sessions over the next few months. We are therefore going to be running a six-week programme to help participants to build a wellbeing toolkit.
Pause, Connect & Discover is a friendly six-week community wellbeing programme offering practical ideas and opportunities for connection in a safe, welcoming and supportive group environment.
The programme is designed to support everyday wellbeing, build coping skills and help reduce isolation by giving people opportunities to connect with others and discover different things that may support them.
Pause, connect & discover is not counselling or group therapy and is not trauma-focused. Participants will not be asked to talk about trauma, disclose personal experiences, explain why they are attending or share anything they do not want to share.
Throughout the programme, participants can talk, listen, try an activity, adapt it, pass or take a break. Different approaches will be offered without suggesting that the same thing works for everyone.
Who is it for?

You might feel stressed, overwhelmed, low on energy, disconnected from others, or simply unsure what might help.

The Six-Week Journey
Week 1 - SAFETY
Welcome & Connect
An opportunity to become familiar with the group, facilitators and how Pause & Connect works. Together, participants will help create the group agreement, begin exploring everyday wellbeing and try a few simple present-focused strategies.
Week 2 - PAUSE
Pause, Ground & Reset
Exploring a range of practical ways to pause and bring attention back to the present. Participants can try different approaches and begin identifying what works for them.
Week 3 - NOTICE
Understanding Feelings & What I Need
Exploring feelings in an accessible, present-focused way, including emotional vocabulary, different levels of feeling and recognising what we might need without having to explain or explore personal histories.
Week 4 - COPE
Coping & Looking After Ourselves
Exploring different ways of coping when life feels difficult, realistic self-care, stress and energy. Participants will consider what can drain their energy, what can restore it and different options they might draw on when they need support.
Week 5 - CONNECT
Connection & Support
Exploring connection, isolation and the different ways people can feel connected. Participants will consider people, places, activities, community and professional sources of support, recognising that connection looks different for everyone.
Week 6 - CONTINUE
My Wellbeing Toolkit
Bringing the six weeks together and reflecting on what participants have discovered about what helps them. Participants will complete their personal Wellbeing Toolkit and identify ideas, resources and sources of support they may want to take forward.
My Wellbeing Toolkit
Across the six weeks, each participant will gradually build their own Wellbeing Toolkit.
This will contain practical activities, ideas and personal reflections from each session. Participants decide what feels useful to them and what they want to leave behind.
In the first session, participants will also have the option to choose a word stone to keep as the first physical item in their Toolkit.
Each session will end with a short Closing Reset, providing a predictable transition from the group back into everyday life.
